) PuAirriNO Small Potatoxs.— Ho have given no (ittlo attention, to this subject for many years ; iuvl havo sottlud the matter conclusively ii our own minds , that it does not-pay to plant small seed. For fifteen years we planted the Hajue nameless variety on the same soil, and at tho.«iul of that time , found no deterioration in thoqnality or yield, but rather an improvement. We have invariably thrown out from our s«ed all potatoes less in sixe than a hcn'« (gg, and aUtonjccM those overgrown, pithy or irregular shaped. In some favurablc seasons', and on particular soils, those purchasing and planting the small potatoes which wo have rejected, have raised crops equal to or more prolific than our owi> j but one year with another, we have averaged 30 to 50 per cent, better crops of good potatoes, than our sinall-pota^o neighbors.— American Agriculturist.
