The fact that the percentage of smokers in the Pr eparatory Depart ment is lower than that in the colle ge mi ght indicate to some readeis that the habit of smoking is contracted by man y students during their life at college ; which , however , _I feel confid ent is pot the case, Consult any young man whO dates the beg inning of his manhood by his first cigar and you wil l allpost invariabl y find that he became ‘‘of age ’’ in his younger teens , or before en tering a college.
