Hutchins , of Detroit , Mich ., has invented a safety appliance for falling electric wires which apparently deadens the most dangerous current . In n recent exhibition he picked up a deadly and naked wire , carrying an electric potential of 10 , 000 volts , and , with his bare feet on the wet earth , placed the copper wire in his mouth .
