IN STORAGE 500 , 000 CASES K-STIMATICS PLACE , CH 1 CACSO _ . « . « SUPPLY AT THAT FIGURE . . Tbe April Deal Hon Been n Puu-le - Throughout—Transactions- on the Butter nnd Egg Board This Week . Chicago , April 26 . —With the close of this week the storage deal this year may be considered a thing of the past so far as putting April eggs in storage is concerned . The taking out process is another very different thing . Next week May eggs will have their inning and will continue to hold the boards for about four weeks . Everything considered , the April storage deal this year has been a surprise in many respects to the entire trade and a keen disappointment to some dealers . Especially has the matter of price been a riddle at almost every stage of the game , and if ever a market bore resemblance to having the cards stacked and if ever market quotations have been intended to obscure actual conditions instead of reflecting them such might be justly charged , at least , against some featu...

April 27 . —The local butter market , has been something of a puzzle this week and sentiment here is , very much divided ou what should be done to equalize matters and bring order out of what , appears to be a chaotic condition in the market .. Thursday there was a deadlock in the butter committee on change and an extra man had to be called in to decide what to do , and it . did not take longer than a few moments to report a decline of 3 c on extras which , of course , means a similar slump in all grades . As an evidence of the mixed situation a lot of 100 extras to arrive April 27 was sold on the board Thursday at . 29 c and another offering of 100 extras in two lots for delivery April 29 was sold at 27 c in the next few minutes . It looked as if prices were ce...

Chicago , April 27 . —Strawberries were scarce on the market this week and consequently the trade in this commodity did not assume very great proportions . Several days of rainy weather almost entirely cul off supplies and what , berries are coming from Tennessee are green , but are commanding exceptionally high prices on account of the scarcity . From other quarters the receipts have not amounted to much and not much faith is placed on the prospects for berries from Arkansas , which usually follow Tennessee , as reports indicate they have had considerable frost , damage there . Some Tennessee berries came on the market this week with fine berries on top and the bottom composed of rubbish . However , the buyers on this market , bit once ne er to bite again . POTATO MARKET STMfi CHICAGO DEALERS HAVE ORDERS FROM EVERY DIRECTION . Receipts Fair—Local and Sblppl-K Demand Brink—The New Potato Situation—Rutins Prlcea - for Old . Chicago , April 27 . —Potatoes have continued to rule at high prices this week , although receipts have been in excess of the stock reported here last week and even heavier than the corresponding week a year ago . The market here was quotably around 55 to 615 c at the close of the week in a local way , but sales have been made for shipment of fancy stock as high as 65 c . Friday 4 cars sold at 60 c . Orders have been coming here from every direction and it has been a plain case that the country had awakened to the real situation and had decided to buy before prices were higher . A local carlot dealer reports orders from coast to coast this week . Inquiries ...
