THE HERALD. AGRICULTURAL, Farmers' Hoy. If a boy manifests a decided tendcre cy for machinery, merchandise, or lit erature, then lie sohuld bo allowed to follow the bent of his inclination. It is folly to spoil a good machinist by trying to make a poor farmer; but nine boys out of ten who arc brought up on a farm, and are judiciously instructed and not made mere drudge, will take to agriculture as ducks to water. More, than half the merchants and professional men of cities are every day longing for a home in the country, and are looking forward to tlio time when they can purchase a farm, delve the soil, raise stock, grow fruits, and play, tbe landlord. If this is so, and there can be no doubt of it, then why should it be so difficult to train our boys to love firming, to honor the vo cation as one evidently designed by tbo Creator for the majority of man kind to follow ? We do not believe the fault is in the boys, but in the in judicious training which they receive. The farmer's hom...
