John Youth, an employe in Sawyer's mill at Nirvane, was struck by lightning-and instantly killed, livo other men were rendered insensiblo by the shock. William Garrick, head carpenter and bridge inspetor of the Detroit. Grand Haven & Milwaukee Railway for twen ty five years, died in Grand Rapids a few davs ago. lie was the only sur vivor of the great accident at Hamil ton, Ont., in 1857, in which sixty peo ple wero killed. Fenton Glassbrook, aged 22 years, engineer at Largenbachcr's mill, at North Lansing, was caught in the' shaft ing and terribly injured.
