CURB FOR SCARLET FBVBR. A friend on the Bonito sends us the following, which he guaran tees as an infallible cure for small pox and scarlet fever. As it may be of interest to our read ers we publish the recipe: 'The following remedy was taken from the Stanton (Cal.) Herald and published in the Times-Echo, Eureka Springs, Ark.: I herewith append a recipe which has been used in hundreds of cases of scarlet fever and smallpox, und is as unfailing as fate and conquers in every in stance. When learned physi cians said patients must die, it effected a cure. It is harmless when taken by a well person. Here is the recipe as I used it to cure my children of scarlet fever and others of smallpox: "Sulphate bf zinc, 1 grain; digi talis (fox glove), 1 grain; ouc half teaspoonful of sugar; mix with two tablespoonsful of water. When thoroughly mixed add two ounces of water. Give a spoon ful every hour. For a child, smaller doses, according to age. Either disease will disappear within 12 hours. If ...

Burton, who came to this country from Greene county, Arkansas, about one year ago, and now lives on a homestead near here, has written u long and interesting letter, to the Soli phone, a paper published in his old home town. In this letter, Mr. Hurton tells his impressions of the country, after a year's residence. The letter is too long1 to he wholly reproduced in the Nicws; therefore, only selections are taken.
