en , Wjt mtxMh. VI THURSDAY OUTOBEH SI, 1887. JOSEPH A. KELLV - - - Editor. WST An articlo on financo from the jen of J3en, Butler, will bo found on the firt page of this paper. Bntler evidently apprehends tbo conseqnon cet which will follow a political cam paign in which the Bon Jholdors make on party, and those in favor of an equalisation of taxation by the pay ment of the bonds in greenbacks make the other. The great amount of bonds owned in New England makes taxation doubly oppressive to the mechanics, mer chmts, and laboring classes of that aection. As Butler well knows, the ruliog passion of the yankco is his passion for money, and all other de aires must be abandoned when placed in antagonism with it. Let it bo plainly demonstrated, ns it surely will, to the Tankco merchant, mechanic, snd laborer, that the Democratic finan ciaj policy will save to them in taxes some of their earnings, and the dny that it is done ...
