There was a pretty warm dlacusaion over one of the rules which gives the principals of the schools authority over the pupil while cti the vay to and from school. The ruKs reported by the su perintendent were finally adopted. They provide that tho scholastic year shall commence on tho first Monday In September, and close on the last Fri day in June. That the schools shall be opened in the morning by reading some portion of the Holy Scripture in each of the departments. Tho teachers and scholars are also required to repeat tho Lord's Prayer. Pupils from other townships may bo admitted at the option of the commissioners. An annual examination is to be held In each school during the week preced ing the April vacation.
