I It is reported that a party of twenty eight prospectors, who started on an expedi­ tion two months ago, from Silver Reef, Utah, have been massacred by Indians near the east­ ern boundry of that Territory. MISSOURI RIVER STEAMER SUNK. The steamer Peninoh, one day out from Yankton, struck a snag at Bonhomme on the 22d inst, and sunk within a few yards of shore She belonged to the Northwest Transportation company, and was loaded mostly with mining maehiBery for the Black Hills. BOT MURDERED. A horrible murder was committed at Porter, Rock county, Wis., on the 23d inst., A 5-year-old son of Alex. An Oct. 6th dispatch from Lake Ben­ ton' Minn., says prairie firts. that section have destroyed eight thousand dollars' worth of grain- and hay. Several barns and other buildings have been destroyed. PRAIRIE FIRES. Advices from Bismarck, D. T., and other points, of Oct. 7, state that prairie fires are raging furiously, the fire spreading in every direction and the atmosphere densly filled with smoke. Thousands of dollars' worth of property being destroyed. BOLD ROBBERY. The Chicago & Alton train that left Kansas City, Mo., Oct. 8, at 6:40 p. m.,was rob bed of its express money at' Glendale, fifteen miles east of that city. The train was stopped by about twenty masked men, who kept up a continual firing while the messenger's safe was robbed. The' messenger was knocked down but not seriously hurt.
