Kansas City, Mo., Feb. 20. Lorenzo Crosby, said to be an elder oí the Mormon Church, while enroute from Atlanta, Ga., where he had been stationed re cently, to Holbrook, Arizona, shot and Fatally wounded him self in a berth in a Pullman sleeper on the Southbound Chi cago & Alton train near Higbee, Mo. He was brought to Kansas Cit3r and placed. in the City Hos pital, where it is said he can not live longer than 24 hours. Until 1902 Crosby was station ed at Richmond, . Those who know him and were his companions in the mission field, state that he was not of a morose, melancholy disposition, but rather of a sunny, cheerful, optimistic nature. Last night at about dusk Sheriff Lewis, Deputy McDonald and Ranger Brooks located Alvord, Stiles and a Mexican at a ranch. They surrounded the place and a free-for-all fight ensued in which Burt Alvord was wound ed and captured, but Stiles and the Mexican made their escape. The grief stricken wife and mother were neatly heart broken. , The statement given out by the Kan sas City papers that the probable cause of dementia was fatuity troubles is .not correct- The cause was o ver-work and insomnia. To Whom it Concerns: The Board of Supervisors of Apache , County, Territory of Arizona, have this 10th day of February 1904 canvassed the re turns of the election held in St. Johns election precinct on the 30th day of January 1904, for the purpose of determining whether or not the sale of intoxicating" lipuors shall be prohibited in said precinct and ascertained the result of said election to be as follows to-wit: 42 votes "For Prohibition" and 71 votes "Against Prohibition." total votes cast, 113. THEREFORE, the Board of Supervisors of the aforesaid county and territory hereb' de clares that after March 7, 1904 the sale of intoxicating: liquors is not prohibited in aforesaid precinct. A. L.
