In addition to the relay teams, it also a chance for community organizations to have fundraising booths. The booths may also pledge a portion of their earnings to the American Cancer Society. The first lap at the event will be at 4 p. m., Saturday, October 1 and will be to honor all survivors. Survivors are encouraged to participate at the relay or just in the first lap so they can be honored as a survivor. The Relay is the American Cancer Society’s nationwide signature event. Brianna says it is an event where we honor those survivors of cancer and those who lost their battle against the disease.
