NEW CORRYONG POSTOFFICE. [Newspaper Article] — Corryong Courier — 26 February 1914

KEW CORRYONG POST OFFICE. The new Corryong post office, on the corner of Hanson and Jardine streets, was opened to the public yes- terday. Messrs Hill (Works Director) and Smith (Works Inspector), of the Home Affairs Department, took the building over on Tuesday afternoon from the clerk of works (Mr F. B. Gelland), and handed it over to Mr Huffer, Inspector of Post offices. Mr Huffer was very well pleased with the building, and complimented Mr Gelland upon the thorough manner in which the work had been carried out. The post office is a handsome building of uncommon design, with a bungalow roof having a two feet projection all around. It is built of cement bricks with cavity walls, and is rough cast in white, and has an iron roof. The walls are plastered inside, and the ceilings are of wood with cornice and picture mouldings. It is floored throughout with jarrah. The mail room, which is 2oft. by 20ft. has a steel ceiling with cornice moulding. In front of the counter a space 14ft. by...
