Notes and Events The Victoria, (s), left Sydney yesterday, for the northern ports. The "Western," steamer, from Cooktown, bound south, arrived at Townsville on Monday. The payment of £2 per day to Lewis Bulgin, assistant collector of Electoral lists in this   district, has been approved by the Bench. In the Police Court, yesterday, one person charged with being drunk was cautioned and discharged. Owing to the Warden being obliged to open   the police court in Millchester, this morning at 10 o'clock, the sittings of the Small Debts Court   will not be held here to-day, until 2 o'clock. We learn from the Times that a lodge of Odd- fellows, is about to be opened in Ravenswood. The Good Templars intend to celebrate the opening of their lodge, by a tea meeting.
