The Sccrctary naid the meeting wan called for the purposes of electing a treasurer, nnd he had only received one nomination, namely Mr. H. Ccopcr Rone, nominated by Messrs. . E. E. Row nnd John Pimott. Mr. C. L. Nicholson asked if it were deeided that Mr. Rose was qualified seeing that ho was not|a member of tho committee. The following letter has boon addressed to tho editor of tho Sydnoy Morning Herald— : Sir, — As there is a deal of controversy on as to whether an order shall not be mado compelling the members of the reserve rifle clubs to undergo certain drills monthly, I offer n suggestion that will meet tho case, and which will prevent these exceedingly useful clubs from being broken up. My suggestion iu that tho reserves should be invited to attend the Eastcr'cncainpment every year, nnd that while there thoy undergo whatever drill tho military officials consider necessary, nnd that they be found intents, provisions, &e., &c., tlio same as the P.
