Big Money In Tomatoes* Last year, Mr. Aiford, tho orobard iat at tho Hawkesbory Agricultural College, produced £130 worth of tomatoes from one-tbird aoro of land, aud tho figures led to much criticism by vegetable-growers, who wero in clined to donbt their accuracy ; but that such cau bo dono was contirmed by the expert's res alts this year. From November 20 to December 20 the college markoted from quarter aero of land 320 half-casos of toma toes, which averaged 7s Gd per half case, or a total of £120. The plants wero goMu early and protected from frost, ami tlio tomatoes were marketed when such commodity was scarce and tbo prices high. When tho principal told a meeting of farmors the above facts thoy received tho report with much applause. .. Qrape Growing* On rriday morning Mr. A. Stoteu burg of Mount Pleasant broaght us somo excellent sample of grapes grown at his farm, tho samples being Golden Champion, a largo golden grape the hire of a pigeon's egg, grafted last yenr. It has a delicious tiavor, aud a grope that ought to havo a good market value. Tho Black. Prince, anothor Inxurions grape, and tlio well-known muscatelle which is a splendid sample of its specie. Tho viucs aro grown iu sandy soil, and have not received any moisture since July last till a few days back. The. exhibit is another illustration of tho wonderful resourses of our dwtiist, and on Mr. Stoltcnbarg's showing tboro is no earthly reason why gmpo growing should not become a profit able industry in tho north west.
