ENGLISH EXTRACTS. [Newspaper Article] — Hobart Town Gazette and Van Diemen’s Land Advertiser — 29 December 1821

ENGLISH EXTRACTS. THE CORONATION.-There was nothing more truly regal in the Coronation, says the Morning Chronicle, than the disregard to the distinction of party which has characterized His Majefty's mea- fures of preparations for that national solemnity. --His own judgment decided on giving for the first time a representation to Ireland on this oc- casion, by summoning the Marquis of Landsdown to perform the duties of Lord High Constable of that Kingdom. The nomination of the Six Royal Pages, is, perhaps, the clearest mark of His Ma- jesty's personal disposition in matters which pecu- liarly concern himself. The young Noblemen chosen by the King were, Lord C. J. F. Russell, Lord W. Russell, Lord Villiers, Hon. Mr. Vil- liers, Lord Fenwick, and Mr. Howard, son of Lord Morpeth. The whole of the arrangement for the illumi- nations, fire-works, &c. in the Park were planned by Sir W. Congreve.
