«©*The Count de Chambord, or, as the Bourbon Legitimists style him, Henry the Fifth,, has come to the front with a proclamation calling upon the people of France to rally around him and establish him on ihp ' throne of the Bourbons. It is ' even said that he intends mflking a coup d'etat ia imitation of Napoleon. The. prospects of such an attempt are, however, so slight and so certain of easy suppression, that but little attention seems to be paid to the proclamation, excepting that it is rebuked as tending to increase political agitation. Later accounts confirm the statement that the army, vote was everywhere in favour of the Republican candidate. The country suffers another misfortune in the partial failure ofthe harvest.
