Johnny Cake. -2 cupfuls Indian meal, 2 cupfuls flour, i cupful sugar, 1 table spoonful melted butter, 2 teaspaonfuls cream-Urter, 1 teaspoonful soda, 2 eggs, enough milk to make a stiff bat ter; bake in a quick oven about 20 min utes. Veal Bits. Cut cold Teal into square pieces; beat 2 eggs with salt, pepper, and chopped parsley; dip each piece into this and then into bread crumbs; butter a baking-pan and arrange the pieces of meat within, scattering through -small pieces of butter; bake and nerve with tomato sauce. Peach Tapioca. Soak 1 pint tapioca in J pint cold water for several hours. Fill a baking-dish about half full of canned peaches, without the sirup; sprinkle the peaches with' sugar, and bake for half an hour. Add i pint peach sirup to the tapioca, some boil ing water and sugar; boil aniil it Is per fectly clear, pour it over the peaches, and bake slowly for another half hour.
