Presidential Candidates. Senator Houston, In hi ipitth against th Nebraska bill, related th following pointed tory. 'i lia Senator from uonnectieut had intima ted thai the Presidency had something to do with tbia measure. Ha knows not how that fact ws but ha stood in opposition to the ' majority. Several distinguished Senators bad been named for that office among them a Senator from South Carolina (Mr. Duller,) from Virginia, (Mr. Hunter,) from Illanois, (Mr. Douglas,) and himself. He thought he beat illuatrat the feeling of these Senators with reaped to Ibis matter, by reciting an anecdote. It was customary at one time in Georgia for magistrate assembled in quorum Courts to fill all vacancies among Justices of th Peace, during the recess of the Legisla ture.
