Whittier was seventy-six years old on Monday of last week. Prof. Harris Swift says that the comet now fast approaching has two tails. South Carolina is the only State in the Union which has no divorce law. The latest presidential ticket of the Democratic party is Thurman and Trumbull. The Constitution, of Michigan pro hibits any form of religioub service in either House of her Legislature. A San Francisco publishing house has its agents in Arizona collecting data for an exhaustive work on the resources of the Territory. According to the Tribune the population of Utah has increased since 1880 at the rate of 9000 per year, of which only one third are mormons.
