DA XI EL, Of Lynchburg, For Lieutenant Governor JAMKS BARBOUR, Of Culpeper For Attorney General: P. W. MoKINNEY, Of Prince Edward. THE LYNCHBURG CONVENTION. The subject which has engaged the attention of the people of Virginia for many days lias been the Lynchburg convention. The interest which we felt in that body had its origin in the fact, that we were uncertain whether a convention convened in the interests of the Rcpubliean'Jparty would nominate candidates, as heretofore, of their own political faith, or would form a coalition with an organization claiming to be Democratic. That convention lias met and adjourned without making a nomimftiOn, but the larger portion of its delegates having favored and endorsed th<» coalition, and having thereby cast their political fortunes with what is now known as the Readjuster or Mahonite party, the singular spectacle is pres...

Wo presume there are very few of our readers to whom if tlie query was propounded "Are you a Democrat ?■' that would not respond to it very promptly. A Ye believe there are very few people, who would not consider it an insult to their intelligence, if we were to intimate that they could not answer so simple a question. And yet simple as it seems to be, our ability to answer it depends upon circumstances. In either event we would perhaps decline to answer at all, as Mr. Cameron, one of the can...
