Some students and teachers arc busily preparing for the literary UIL meets to be held this spring. Other students and teachers will soon begin their work. Assembly The TJC Pop - Rock musical group performed for the entire student body in assembly last Wednesday. The group of college students is under the direction of Rodger Bonnet. Mr. Bennett is also the Artist in Residence with the Cultural Activities Center in Temple. Mr. Bennett is a classical guitarist and plans arc being made to have him give student workshops in the near future. Alan Dave and Dennis Martinka of Bartletl and James Martinka of Granger packed up last January 1G and headed for Fort Worth to join other farmers from Central Texas and throughout the state who have embarked on the long drive to Washington D.C. They hauled their tractor on a truck to Fort Worth where it was unloaded to become a part of the tractorcade. Besides the tractor they arc taking a car and camper a pickup pulling a trailer of fuel and enough provisions to last for the journey. They spent the night In Canton Texas on January 17; Shrcvcport Louisiana on January 18; and Monroe Louisiana on January 19 where a rally was held.
