Ilditors Heormcr Our County Convention for the nomination of delegates to the Houston Convention wae advertised properly to bb held last evening at 8 o'clock at Sylvcs- ter'u Hall the large room now occu- pied by the County Court. For some days there has been con- siderable political excitemont on tho streets but no general ill feeling nor any apprehension of a breach of the peaco. Some personal rencounters have occurred and one or two flagrant assaults such as that of Collector Patton upon Major Plumloy. The Stevenson men in the city and country are probably more than two to one over the Clark men. The Stevenson men would have been elected without doubt and without tumult.
