The North Australian. TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 1863. [Newspaper Article] — The North Australian — 15 September 1863

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 1863.     The report, purporting to be, of " the " Select Committee appointed to inquire " into and report on the operation '' and working of the Immigration laws, " and the legality and effect of the regu- " lations affecting same, which have from " time to time been issued by the " Government," is, in many respects, an exceedingly perplexing document.   For not only does the evidence disclose directly opposite statements from quar- ters whence such opposition might reasonably have been expected, but between persons who might be sup-   posed to live together in that harmony which official companionship engenders.
