OUR SERIAL STORY OUR HARRY: A T'ALE OF THF - By J. M, BARR, - [ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.] " We must wait here till night, for those beggars will probably leave some men on the watch. I am not afraid of being taken down here. One man is as good as another in a dark hole like this, and they will never take me out alive. By night we may make for the tent, 'and get the timber down our own shaft, where in future-we'must stop below all day, and only come up in the dark. . After an hour or two, Harty became restless, and expressed a wish that they had a pick with them, so that they might fossick, as there appeared to be a bed of very fine-looking gravel overhead. which was exposed, where a flake of clay had fallen fronm the roof of the working.. Matches were struck, and a piece of candle was fou...
