GARDINER DISTRICT'ROAD BOARD. A meeting of the Gardiner District Road Board was held on' Wednesday evening last, when the chairman (Mr. Bensdn), and Messrs. Watts, Woodmason, Youngg, and Henly, were present. The minutes of, the last meeting were read and confirmed, after which a letter was read from the Treasury, requesting the board to 'forwaird a statement of the amount of rates levied ond received last year. The clerk was instructed to comply with the request.-A letter was read from Mr. Wastell, clerk to the Oakleigh and MAlgrave District Road Bolird, asking the Gardiner Board to cause a'cutting' on "the Boulidary-road, made by them,-to hb filled'up, as several accidents had occurred from its 'being- left in its present state; and with respect to the .evasion of the Scotchman's-creek toll, Mr: Wastell stated; that if the Gardiner Board would qfiggest any practicable means by which such evasson could be stopped, the Oakleigh Board * would be glad to meet tlpeir views.
