KOONDROOK RACES. Fine weather, a large attendance and good fields were the maiu factors that contributed towards mking the annual meeting of the Koondrook Jockey Club held on New Year's Day such a great succets. The committee this year went to a lot of expense in re-arranging the course and the genecral verdict of the public on New Year's Daiy was that the alteratious were a decided advantage, as a clear sigh~t of the race ca be witnuessed from the hill, and a splendid view all the way up the straight. With a few shade trees planted here and there it will make one of the most attractive grounds in the district. The committee are to be complimented on their attrao tive ground and after the settlement of this meeting they will be in the proud position of having paid off all their liability. Notwithstanding the many counter attractions at Meran, Benjeroop, Wee Wee Rup and other places, there was a record attendance at Koondrook, and over £100 was taken at the gates.
