Port Franklin Water Car nival A LAROti ATTENDANCE The second water carnival under the auspices of the l'ort Franklin Water Cm nival Committee was held on New Year's Day and proved an excellent opening day for the year 1914 an far as the sporting career of life is concerned. Being the only meeting held in the district on that day and favoured with tine weather, it war, tho means of at tracting a large crowd of over GOO people to the waters' edge, many at tending from outside places, the total takings at the gate being Long before the time of starting people were to be seen wending their way toward the Port, probably with the idea of taking a trip out in the boats to Corner Inlet before the sporting events had commenced.
