Oats For Victoria POOR SACKS USED The Melbourne Corn Exchange, in a recentr Issue of the Grain Trade News, advises that during the 1938/39 season oats were imported into Victoria, from other States in ' very poor sacks, even in ? super phosphate sacks. This is an offence in Victoria, but no action was taken, probably because of the drought conditions which pre vailed during the season. If business with Victoria is possible in the coming season, the merchants of that State are expected to stipulate that packing must be in sound corn sacks ? and that superphosphate bags must not be used. '

New Bowling Green RECOMMENDATIONS ADOPTED In a report of a meeting held last Friday, the works committee of the Temora Municipal Council submitted to the Council the foll owing recommendations in connec tion with the construction of the new Temora' bowling green: — (a) That the present natural surface 3t the proposed north-western corner of the new green be the finished level for the embankment to surround the new green. -b) That chain wire be used on the fencing if it is proposed to use any type of wire netting. (c) That the club be permitted to erect, if it so desires, a galvanised iron enclosure at the rear of the club house for storage of soil etc , s ich en closure to be served by a galvanised iron gate about 5 ft 6ins. in height, the enclosure to have a width of about 14 feet, and the outside of the iron to be suitably painted.
