Important to Dairy Farmers. I In connection with tho December issue of the ' Agricultural Gazette, '' a very valuable Cream chart and ready rockonor, compiled-by Mr. O'Culhighun, is issued. No title [Newspaper Article] — The Richmond River Express and Casino Kyogle Advertiser — 13 December 1904

The threatened brencli between tin two Houses of Parliiiuient in tliis State in regard to certain anieiidiiieiits in tlie Stamp Duties and Harbour Rates Bills has beeu amicably settled. As regards the latter Bill there is a considerable difference of opinion, and rightly so, as to whether it can fairly be termed a measure to impose taxation. Practi cally, it proposes to impose certain rates ill return for services rendered, atid therefore it- is almost a misnomer to call it a money or taxation Bill. True, it is expected to bring a certain amount of extra revenue into a some what depleted Treasury,, but on this head we are afraid the results will not be so cheering as anticipated by its authors. And, like a large percentage of the State enactments, it imposes an extra burden upon a class of people who can ill-afford to bear it. We do not. go so far as to say the Legislative Council is not required as a safeguard of the public interests, but do think the time has gone by for the mere ...
