Reports from Salt Late City show that the recent severe course .of justice in Utah has produced lit tle less than a panic among the disciDles ofBrisham Young. If reports are to be credited the hie rarchy is on the verge of the great est crisis in its history. The saints had hoped to meet with some rec ognition of their long faithfulness to the Democratic party on its coming into power, but instead they are compelled to expect a con tinuation of the uncompromising enforcement of justice which they have recently experienced. Revo lutions, it is said, never go back ward. The country has become so fully; determined that the laws shall be respected, that the Demo cratic administration could not, if it wouldT protect the Mormons in their continued nulification of them. They know that their only hope lies in such a corruption of party leaders and officers as shall cripple the law and render its eng for...

TEE HEEA1D. St. Johns, Thursday, May 14. A New Era.. Without doubt this year will mark the commencement of a new era for Arizona, Outsiders are be ginning to understand that we have a country that is not all a desert. Our exhibit at New Orleans has un doubtedly done much to draw at tention to the territory. Scarcely a day passes that "we do not receive letters of inquiry as to our agri cultural and other resources from eastern parties who are thinking of emigrating. Another proof of the' new de parture which is being made may be found in the number of irriga tion enterprises under way. There are at least a dozen canals now be ing constructed which will irrigate at least 500,000 arces of land, equal in fertility to any soil that can be found on the Pacific Coast. "Whilst the cattle ranges of Arizona may be easilr overstocked if herds are rushed in ahead of water facilites, there is no danger that the fertile agricultural valleys of Arizona will become overcrowded for many years. Befo...
