C. I. MINOR, Editor & Proprietor. Saturday. April AT. iST. The Alabama Question. L::fe advices concerning the Alabama question are of vast i:r. lorlHiiec to the American people. The press of England, with few exception?, is inciting tint peo ple to stand firm and the Govern ment to resist any award that the Geneva arbitrators may make to the United .States for consequen tial damages. The Tucson Citizen of the 4th says that on the 2tth ult.,a Mcxi- i can, who was hording .some stock vithin one and a. half miles of Crittenden, was killed by Indians mid four yoke of work cattle stolen and driven to the mountains. The next day, in Sonoita valley, about eight miles below Crittenden, John Whitcman was killed by the savages, and his wife made a narrow escape with but. slight Jlesh wounds, made by a lance, in her breast and back and one hand. She literally outrun the savages until she reached the house of Thomas Gardner with the injuries stated. Sonoita has been depopu lated at times before, but it is so attractive and fertile that poor, brave men will seek it for a home .with all its murderous history. h hr. Smith 'and P.
