The first correction relates to Mr. Marshal's hay ing derived his knowledge of Mr. Clay's sentiments on the Missouri Compromise f.om "intimate personal aociation" with that gentleman. Our terrerpon dont understood Mr. M. to Bar so, and so reported him. Although he may not hare used those eiact terms, we are confident ho spole of his superior f portunitios of knewing Mi. Clay's opinions.
