The representative district in which we are located, is composed of Meeker, Ben* ton and Stearns Counties, and is entiled to three representatives. The district con vention of the bogus Democracy was. held on last Monday at Sauk Rapids, and we had a "ohcil amwg them taking notes," who reports as follows: At five and a half minutes past one o' clock, on motion of Mr. Burdick, Geo W Sweet Esqr. was called to the chair. Mr. Butler of Meeker Co. was appointed Sec retary, and a committee of three was ap pointed to examine credentials, when ths Convention took a recess of half an hour Precisely two hours thereafter the Commit tee rung the big bell, and the conventton re-assembled. We entertain the opinion that a rascal *ill cheat you exemption or no exemption and this law may shield honest debtors from the severity of unfeeling creditors, until such time as they can accumulate a suffi ciency to pay their entire indebtedness.— At all events we can give it a fair trial and if it disappoints the expectations of its friends it can be repealed.
