Many of the unique "cannon balls" and dumb-bell formations found in this vicinity have lately been sent to us. Those we have ex amined have been composed of py rite of iron, which is a combination of iron and sulphur, usually being muich found in bituminous coal, and used in the manufacture of sulphur ic acid. Some of these concretions are almost perfect spheres, and the exterior usually has a dull reddish tinge, due to the pyrite altering to oxide of iron. Others have the typ ical dumb-bell formation, while in several instances we have seen three of these spheroid bodies joined to gether in one mass. Leiper of Glendive was a business visitor Friday last. Mrs. R. H. Wolf was a visitor Thursday and Friday last. Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Chappell visited in Glendive Sunday last. J. R. Cornell is a business visitor from Glendive this week. Chas. Clark is a business visitor from Mikkelson, N. D. Mrs. John Payne has moved into the Proper residence temporarily. Sam Mullendore is again able to be around after a severe illness of several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Proper left for the ranch Tuesday after spending a w' ek in town. The masquerade ball given on the 24th was a grand success. All who attended report an enjoyable time. Rev. English will hold services at the Episcopal church next Tuesday evening at 7:30.
