ROD ENJOYS FEAST First Christian Church and St Paul's Catholic Church of Smithville were the beneficiaries of the proceeds of a tremendously successful buffalo-beef barbeque held at the American Legion Hall Sun day. In all, 864 adult tickets and 104 children's tickets were sold for the 'barbeque and all the trimmings' plate, with another 50 persons receiving refunds when the meat supply gave out. A.J. Rod, owner of the Flying Bar and River Bend ranches near Smithville, donated the buffalo steer, cattle steer and all the trsmmings for the barbe- que. So successful was the oc- casion that 50 pounds of sausage were added to the fare at the last moment, and still more than half a hundred hungry folks were turned away.
