The Democracy of Shackel- ford county, to the number of about thirty, met in the court bonne at Albany, Thursday, for the purpose of selecting dele- gates to the Galveston Conven- tion. Peter Hart, Esq, called the assemblage to order and stated the object Of the meeting. Judge J. C. Lynch was chosen chairman and J. N. Masterton secretary. J. N. Browning moved that five delegates be elected to represent Shackelford county in the Galveston conven- tion. Motion prevailed, but the vote was very wtak. Messrs. J. C. Lynch, John Bradley, J. B. Matthews, with Sam. Spears as alternate, T. D. Isbell and Dr. P. Holt were elected dele- gates. . Dir. Holt offered a resolution that the delegates go uninstruct- ed. Resolution 'adopted.
