The ultendiinco was very fair, apd the Incumbent (Rov. J. Best) prcaided. Minutes of previous annual Meeting having boon read by Mr. J. T. Carbine was anxious to get away and broke over a couple of times, while Marvel stood quiet as a lamb. At the fall of the. flag Marvel went to tho front with Euroka, Carbine and Corvette raced one length behind, the pace at first was not extra fast, but iis the sheds were reached a terrific race was run. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Tiie retiring committee of thu ul-ove= limned society met at 3 p.m. on Thurs day last at the Nowra Public Hall, Mr. John Moiinghan, (a Vice-president in the chair). . A letter was received from ,Mr, J. H. Littlewobd in reference to the deci sion of a previous meeting not to moot a demand . made by him for services rendered in connection with the late show. The chairman remarked that if tlio applicant hod taken entries for the show he had not been appointed by the society to do so. Mr. Bice suggested that in future some person should be appointed to take thow entries. The secretary -referred to the matter of dispute between Mr. L. Geoghegan and tho Society respecting a prize awarded him at the show of 1890. A cheque had beenfeent to Mr. Geoghegan for tho amount -of second prize, the steward's book showing an entry ' No. 2 (R. The Npwra Lighting Question. A publio meeting, convened by the Mayor in response to a requisition from certain ratepayers, was held nt tho Nowra.
