After considerable discussion, it was unanimously dpctaed to abandon the show for this- year, and to con centrate upon''building up a sound position to work up a show for next year. The chief factors in bringing about this decision were the unfavor able weather and the weak support accorded the bureau in its effort to raise funds. BowleyPark. (From our Correspondent). Donth of Iris We regret to have to report the er of lllr. and Mrs. Hobbs, of Bossley death of Iria Hobbs, the only daught Farfc. The little girl only had a very short illness, And her death came as a great shock to local residents, and also to her schoolmates. Her funeral was well attended by local resident!,, and her schoolmates and schoolmast er, Mr. Bobinson, sent two very nice wreaths. Departure of Mr. and Mr*. H. O Faulkner. On Saturday last Bossley Park lost two very valuable citizens, in Mr. and Mrs. H. 0. Faulkner, who had been at Bossley Park about four years. During his term here Mr. Faulkner was prominent in all mat ters of public interest. A monument to his good work is the Bossley Parle 'bus service, a thing for which Mr. Faulkner worked very hard, before finally realising his ideal. C. OF E. HOME FOR BOYS. On Saturday last, Nov. 17, the Mother's Union of Canley Vale and Cabramatta entertained 91 boys and the staff of the above home, at a picnic on the grounds of Mr. T. Hoy. Three motor waggons were engaged for the occasion. It would "be only putting it mildly to say that a very happy and enjoyable day was spent. Both in boating and cricket ing the boys enjoyed themselves to the full. During the afternoon races were run in which the boys who ran first and second in each event received a box of chocolates, donated by Mrs. Holloway. Altogether £9 was collected by the members of the union.

FAIRFIELD GIRL GUIDES. The first meeting of the executive committee of the Girl Guides' Associ ation was held at the Fairfield Public School last Saturday, November 24, Quite a lot of business was dealt with. An item of interest was the breaking up of the Girl Guides for the holidays from December 13 till the second week in January. The committee decided to give the girls a social after noon on December 15. A further meeting to finalise the arrangements for the social will be held in the Methodist School Hall on December 3rd.

SPRING BALL. The annual R.C. Spring ball, which was such a great success, returned a profit of £166/lG/7i. The receipts were £218/3/41;. the expenses were £52/11/91. This is a very fine result, and reflects great credit on those re sponsible for the function. The sec retary was Mr. J. E. Grady.
