SETTLEMENT AT WERRIBEE,     Approval was expressed by     the Water Supply Commission on Monday of the sub-divisional plan of the property at Werribee which will be offered for settle- ment in March of next year. The property is situated near the town   of Werribee, and comprises about 1,000 acres. It has been sub- divided into 50 blocks, ranging in areas from five to 30 acres. The small blocks will be used for market gardening or a form of agricultural labourers' homes. The   property is commanded by the Pike's Creek reservoir, and the work of constructing the channels is in hand.

TARNEIT STATE SCHOOL.   SUCCESSFUL CONCERT. A concert and coffee supper was held in the above schoolroom on Thursday last, the 9th inst. There was a very large attendance. The hon. secretary, Mr. D. Hogan, ably assisted by an energe ic committee, have been most zealous in providing so excellent a programme, and are highly appreciative of the assistance rendered by the ladies in providing such a bounteous coffee supper. Mr. Montgomery, as chairman,   announced the first item, a piano- forte duet, by Miss Agar and Mr. H. M'Murray, which was very     pleasingly rendered. Miss Mabel Tinkler was heard to fine effect in     singing "Two Eyes of Grey," and     fully invrited the applause in the   second part with " Roses."
