..·~~ Engineer's Report. 2 STEAM RoLLER-The steam roller was engaged rolling in Kew on 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 19th and 20th May and in the City the rest of the time. Olne of the wheels is broken to such an extent as to render 'the roller unfit for work, the two (2) driving pinions are very much worn, and I would recommend they be replaced with new ones. S Clause 2, re Steam Roller-The Committee recommends that this work'be carried out at a cost not exceeding £10. 7 TOORONGA RoAD BRIDGE--I have got notice that the work here will soon be started, and hand in a letter which I have received from the contractor with respect to keeping the road open for traffic while the work is in progr se. Curator's Report. I have the honor to submit my report of work done in the Municipal Reserves during the past fortnight I also beg to state police officers have made several tiisits to the Central also West gardens. Since their appearance there has been marked improvement in conduct of night visitors, while there are still'a number of both sex who make a rendezvou of the Central Gardens, exercise more discretion in their behaviour not to give offence. I would suggest that these officers pay occasional visits on Sunday afternoons, say between 3 o'clock to 5 30 they would check much of the rowdyness which is carried on about that time. On Saturday, 9th inst, I accepted an invitation to the State Nursery, Macedon,and de ected some trees and shrubs, sorts we do not possess in exchange for seeds, of roots and cuttings at present in the gardens, as selected by Mr. Firth, Superintendent. 1 GARDai-n-The work in both gardens has been usual maintenance. Gamberwell City Gourt. B EACHES OF iDISCIPLINE. 'Arthur Forsyth Watson was charged with committing a breach of discipline on April 2nd. Lieutenant R. N. C. Hersch said he was in command on the day in question. The boy Watson was spoken .to by Warrant-Officer Parker, for Stalking, and answering back. He was always the same. Giving advice was no good.. Mr. Cohen: If you lads are per mitted to disturb the parades they might just as well be discontinued. Fined 40s., in default 14 days. Watson: I cannot pay the fine, as I am out of work. SMr. Cohen: You had better go into the Port Phillip fortress. I will not give you time to pay. Leslie William Shields was charged with a breach of discipline. The evidence showed that the ser geant-major was drilling six cadets, Shields being of the number. This - was after the ordinary parade, as a ;;: punishment for talking. SUPERIOR OFFICER S-ACCUSED. Frederick ':Hart, charged with a breach of discipline on April 2nd, said he did not know nhat it meant. SLieut. Kersch said the Cadet was continually-talking, and had often been paraded in the office. Captain Watson said the boy was Smore of a buffoon than anything else. He seemed to be irrepressible. Hart said the lieutenant gave him a clout across the ears. He went to the area officer to report the matter, but no notice was taken of him. Lieut..
