Early attendance re quested." At his meeting in the evening Ct Miller, who was one of the candidates for the Fawkaer electorate, made reference to the advertisement, stating that ti: had interviewed a hading member of the Melbourne socialistic organisation, who had in formel him that the socialites were not responsible for the insertion of the notice. Municipal Presentation At the conclusion of the business of the special meeting of the Prahran Council on Monday evening last, Cr Chambers, ex-Mayor, was made the recipient of an ülumioalf d addresses a memento of his two years' term in the Mayoral chair. The address, which was presented by Mayor Flin toff, set forth the able and painstaking manner in which ex-Mayor Chambers had performed his duties : also the Mayoress, wno. had so well assisted Cr Chambers in carrying out the social side of the Mayoral office. In accepting the gift, Cr Chambers said there were difficulties and pleasures appertaining to the Mayoral office, but he thought that the pleasures stood out above the difficulties. Fraaer visited the Punt road, High street, Hornby street, Armadale, Toorak and Hawks burn (Malvern Road) State Schools yesterday morning, and addressed the school children in their various playgrounds, wishing them, together with the teaching staff, the compli ments of the season, a sentiment which was heartily reciprocated. The committee of the Prahran Scottish Society has decided to hold the next meeting of the society in the Empire Hall on 'Hogmanay Night( Monday, 31st December,) instead of on the first Monday in January. The music will commence at 9 30 p.m. (and not at S pm., BS customary), and will continue until after midnight, thus giving members a better opportunity than hitherto of meeting each other in a fraternal manner. The fourth of the series of annual musical festivals in connection with the Prahran State Schools, was beldon Friday evening the 14th inst., when a splendid programme was renoered by the pupils of the Malvern road (Hawksburn) State School, in the City Hall, Prahran.
