AN ASTONISHING MAcHINE.-From an account of the great English exhi bition the following is exhibited: But unquestionably the most cari ous and ingenious instrument in the whole exhibition is a machine for microscopic writing, constructed by a Mr. Payeis. The operator writes with a pencil on a sheet of paper placed at the bottom of the instrument, which is connected by a series of levers and gimbals with another very minute pencil at the top, which re produces on a tablet what is written below, in characters soinfinitessinmal ly small that they can be discerned only by the aid of a powerful magni fier.
