The Farm and Garden. Best Root Sugar. THE SORGHO SYRUP CROP. A correspondent of the Ohio Far mer, John II. Klippart, of Columbus, eays : " In 1859 I procured some wYite sugar beet seeds from France, winch I gave to Professor Mot. The Farm and Garden. A New Grape. Among the varieties of the native grape which have lately been brought to the notice of those who are interested in this branch of husbandry, is the Adirondao " er&vi. bo called from the region in which it was first obtained. John W. Bailey, of Pkttsbnrg, in this State, wu the first cultivator. It was exhibited at the last State Fair at Rochester, and obtained a premium and a special commendation. It has been favorably spoken of by Mr. A. S. Fuller, who went from New York to Platteburg, on behalf of the fruit grow- ' crs here, to investigate its merits, and who reported that it is " a great acqui sition." It has also been commended in the Country Gentleman by Mr. Thomas. The Horticulturist says : " In general appearance it resembles the Isabella, but the bunch is more point ed, and the berries are not quite so oval. The skin is thin.
