As the horse could not have slaked his thirst without pulling the ph1g out of the lhun g'ole of the barrel we do not see any thing extra ordinary in the diccurence. Now, if the horse lad pull ed the barrel out of bunghole, and slaked his thirst with the phdg, or if th' barrel had pulled the bunghole oul, of the plug, and slaked its thirst witnh the horse, or if the phig had pull 4 the horse out of the barrel and slaked its thirst with the bunghole, or if the bunghole had pulledl the thirst out of the horse and slaked the plug with the barrel, or if the barrel had pulled the horse out of the bunghole mad plugged its thirst withn a slaked, it might have beeu worth while to nuIik( sonic fuss over it. 'UAnAIGW IN THa FIRST WARD. A meeting was held at Richardeon's school-house, first ward, Wednesday evening last; for the purpose of organ izing a Gi'eley and Brown club. The attendnce was numerous, about two hundred people being present, one hnadred and ltty of whom were colored. Dr. Edward Duffel called the meeting to order and occupied the chair as temporary president. Gen. Allen Thomas was introduced and made an excellent speech, full of forci ble truths and good advice to the col ored citizens. His address was fre quently applauded and made a good impression ulpn his hearers. 'L. E. men ass geat:aluled-feo, and res ponded in bf rlef talk, whicb was well received. A rail was then opened and a goodly number came forward and had their names entered as members of the club, among them many colored men.
