I was ob aervod in that city on the 11th. AT Dedham, Mass., on the 11th J. F. Harnett by a standing hop. skip and jump of thirty-seven feet and one-half inch beat the record. He also cleared forty feet with three jumps, beating the world's record. AT a dance on the 11th near Portsmouth, O., Hurry Nichote shot and killed Wilson and Amos Cooper, brothers, who had forced a quarrel upon him after having been warned to desist.
