Tlie Ministerial Kiatement. Mr. MACKENZIE was understood" io say that lie had taken the earliest opportunity afforded him of communi cating to His Excellency the Governor the present position of the Govern ment. In that communication, stated that the Government' iter# defeated on the motion lor the Address by a majority of two in a house of twenty-seven members. That parties were so evenly balanced in the House that it was difficult lor either side to carry on the Government.
