Horses.-'We offend on the 13th nit at oar weekly sales, a few medium hacks, which did cot realise owners' reserve. BEIBEAJJE.-Scott and Hacgregor report tor week ending Nov. 4th, as follows:-Fat Sheep.-Market moderately supplied with about 1000 head, 460 of which were good quality but not extra heavy weights. From Felton we sold at an average of 10/-; heavier weights realised 10/- to 11/3; mediums, 10/-; heavy crossbredv 16/6 to 17/6; lambs, 9/9 to 11/6, We sold privately 200 fat wethers at 10/-. CUT AND COMB AGAIN.-The champion swordsman of the Mitchcll, who hails from the liulloo, had n bout nt singlestick last week with a gentleman who is celebrated for his wonderful explorations and the newspaper articles in which he describes them. Tho explorer every time ho struck his opponent shouted out in stentorian voico " touch," hot the Bulloo man never spoke; the stick sounding on the other man's arm and shin did oil that.

Dr. Fopswortb, while riding from Tliornboroogh to Kingsborongh, was thrown and killed on the 6pot. TUESDAY, November 25. The champion sculling match on the Thames yesterday was won by Hunlon, who beat Trickctt easily. The body of Doctor Mctcl was fonnd in tbc river at Goondiwindi last night.

IN another column we publish a letter on the subject of frozen meat companies and the action taken by the pastoralists with respect to them. Our correspond ent, who, we may admit, is a squatter himself, ought to be allowed to know something about the matter, and it is his opinion that the squatters do not support the meat freezing schemes as they ought to do. His argument is perfectly right. His reasons why squatters should support the meat com panics are clear and unanswerable; but the question as to whether squatters are all in a position to take many shares in the companies he docs not touch upon. Squatters, it is well known, are of two classes. The one class is composed of! large capitalists who can afford to spend much money on their stations, and yet have plenty to spare for investment in schemes indirectly connected with sheep and cattle breeding.
