Mb JnttriarSuuMl Stanford. Ky., W. P. WALTON. July 9, 1186 As a good deal of misinformation exists as to the fiual vote nominating Mr Joseph Barbour forSjperior Judge, we giro it exactly ai it occurred from notes taken at the time and of which there can be no dispute. Judge R. P. Jacobi had previously atated that the name of Judge Siuflay would not be presented. Sel Miller nominated Gen. Whittalcer and J C. Beckham did a like service for Mr. Barbour. Voting then began by counties and when Birbour had received 174 votes aud Gen. Whittiker 0 and a fraction, Mr. Miller withdrew his candidate and moved that thenominatian of Mr, Birbour be made unanimous and it was so declared. It has been atated that none of the counties that Instructed for Siufllev Toted for the nomination, but it is not the cape. Anderson with 0; Garrard J; LaRue 4; Laurel 4; Madisin 11; Marion 7; Mercer C and a fraction, remaining fraction of one vote for Whittaker; Metcalfe 3; Monroe 3; Taylor 4; and perhaps others ...
